Reports are out claiming that Mesut Ozil has been named the German national team player of the year for 2015.
The Arsenal playmaker has won the award for the fourth time in his career after gaining a majority of the vote from Germany supporters.
27-year-old Ozil attracted 45.9% of the vote to easily beat Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller (15.9%) while FC Koln left-back Jonas Hector was in third place with 13.6% of the votes.
Ozil reclaims his player of the year title from Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos who was voted as Germany’s best in 2014 – their World Cup-winning year.
Former Schalke, Werder Bremen and Madrid midfielder Ozil has previously won the award in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
