Tottenham Hotspur defender Sebastien Bassong has been named in Cameroon’s 30-man preliminary squad for the World Cup.
Bassong is included alongside Spurs team-mate Benoit Assou-Ekotto as well as Alexandre Song of north London rivals Arsenal.
Teenager Joel Matip will also get his chance to impress, but there is no place for Daniel Ngom Kome, who has been a first-team regular for Tenerife this season. The squad is headlined by star striker Samuel Eto’o.
