A clinical first-half performance sent Milan back to second in the Serie A table with a 4-0 win over Chievo at the San Siro.
The league champions raced into a three-goal lead with little over half an hour played through goals from Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Pato.
Ibrahimovic bagged his second and Milan’s fourth on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot against a fruitless away side with little to offer.
Their performance improved in the second half, but it was too little too late, and Ibrahimovic came close to completing his hat-trick shortly after the restart.
Milan join Udinese on 24 points, one behind Juventus who still have a game in hand.
