It has been reported that French agent Jean-Pierre Bernes says Manchester United’s record deal for Anthony Martial makes sense.
Martial joined United for a fee rising to €80 million.
Bernes, who takes care of the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Didier Deschamps, told France Football: “Twenty years ago, this system did not exist.
“It was more like a casino. We made a random bet between the variables.
“Now the buying club, who will pay these bonuses if he succeeds will also win because their player will automatically increase in value by achieving the objectives.
“If Martial becomes the Ballon d’Or in four years, believe me, Manchester United will be happy to donate €10m to Monaco! For other clubs, it is a way to spread the price of the transfer over time.”
