Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed fears that midfielder Michael Essien is out for the season.
The Ghana international midfielder has attempted to be upbeat over his chances of returning to action.
However Ancelotti released a statement saying that he doubts Essien will play again for Chelsea this season.
The midfielder is on the way back from knee surgery.
