According to reports from the London Evening Standard, Newcastle United are ready to increase their bid for Andros Townsend after Tottenham made it clear they would reject a proposed £10.5 million offer for the England winger.
Townsend is interested in a move to St James’ Park but Newcastle have yet to match Spurs’ valuation of the 24-year-old, thought to be about £14m.
The clubs are still holding talks and Newcastle are expected to return with an improved offer in the next 24-48 hours.
