Nicolas Anelka is facing a massive pay-cut if he wants to stay at Chelsea.
The Premier League champions intend to slash their wage bill and expenditure by putting a ceiling on salaries and transfer fees in future.
It is said that Michael Ballack, who is also out of contract this summer, is likely to be released while Anelka, who has 12 months on his current deal, will have to accept a £50,000-a-week reduction to extend his contract by a further two years.
