It has been reported that Danny Welbeck has a lot more to offer Arsenal according to manager Arsene Wenger.
The 23-year old striker has enjoyed a bright start to life in north London by scoring four goals in five outings since joining from Manchester United for £16million in September but Wenger feels there is more to come.
Welbeck netted a hat-trick in the Gunners’ 4-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray on Wednesday night which suggests to Wenger that he can continue to improve in a more central role than where he was deployed at United.
“Danny is 23 years old. The fact that he plays regularly in the Premier League now, in his (central) position, means he is improving game by game, is adding to his game and that is very positive,” Wenger said ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea who have eight-goal hitman Diego Costa in their ranks.
“There is a lot more to come from him, especially because he has the basics.
“Danny has a good technique, he has good pace and a good mentality, so I believe that Diego Costa is a good example for him to follow.”
