The American sports company made the decision to end the tenure of manager Brendan Rodgers on Sunday which attracted the ire of Arsenal legend Henry who feels John W Henry and co. are not true fans of the famous club or even football in general.

The Arsenal legend said on Sky Sports : “You could sense from the way he was talking that something was happening already they must have had a discussion before the Everton game, but I want to go back to the owners,”.

“It seems to me like they don’t really like football it seems to me like they kind of using the Liverpool brand.

“Listen, I have massive respect for Liverpool.. but it’s not a big team any more.

“It is not and these owners right now are using the Liverpool brand and I don’t think it’s good for the fans or anyone that love Liverpool.”

Rodgers had his Liverpool contract terminated following the 1-1 Merseyside derby draw with Everton which left the Reds sitting 10th on the Premier League table after eight matches.
