Reports are out claiming that Patrick Vieira is being tipped to step into the Manchester City hotseat as early as next week.
The Express reports that the Frenchman, who is the head of City’s Elite Development Squad, could replace Manuel Pellegrini if the reigning Premier League champions happen to lose to West Ham United on Sunday.
City have dropped to fourth on the league table having lost four of their past six domestic outings and there are murmurings that Chilean tactician Pellegrini may soon be sacked.
If that is the case, it is strongly believed that former Arsenal star Vieira well take the reins in order to steady the ship and ensure at least a Champions League play-off berth.
City are just four points above fifth-placed Liverpool with six fixtures remaining this season.
