Reports are out claiming that Asmir Begovic insists he is settled at Stoke City amidst claims that Premier League rivals are showing interest.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina goalkeeper, 27, has a year to run on his current contract at the Britannia Stadium and despite links with Arsenal and Liverpool, says he is content in Staffordshire under the guidance of Mark Hughes.
Begovic admits he would love to play for a club who have ambitions for success and feels that things are starting to turn that way at Stoke.
“You get to a certain age and stage in your career where you want to be part of a successful team pushing forward and we have the ambition to do that and keep the right players here, so we’ll see how it works out,” he said.
“Part of the fun of playing under Mark Hughes is that he’s trying take the club forward. He’s changed a lot of things around for us and we’ve definitely enjoyed that. The whole structure he’s put in place will benefit everybody.
“I’ve always been very settled and satisfied here. I’ve a year left on my contract and so I’m pretty calm with the situation. We will talk when the time is right and see if we can make it a long-term one.”
