Reports are out claiming that Manchester United face competition from Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
The Daily Star Sunday reported that Arsenal are ready to make it a three-way Premier League fight for the German midfielder.
United see playmaker Gundogan, 24, as the long-term successor to vice-captain Michael Carrick, 33.
However City believe they may have the trump card in what could be one of the hottest battles in the next transfer window, as new Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel wants Blues striker Edin Dzeko.
Jurgen Klopp’s successor wants to make Dzeko, 29, his first signing and City value the Bosnian at £18 million.
That creates the possibility of a City-Dortmund swap deal.
