Reports have emerged claiming that Arsenal are sitting on top of the Premier League table for the 2015 calendar year.
The Gunners started the new year with a 2-0 defeat at Southampton but have managed to record 11 wins from 13 matches to sit above league leaders Chelsea as the most in-form team in England’s top flight.
Arsene Wenger’s men have taken 33 points from a possible 39 and next take on Jose Mourinho’s Blues who are on the verge of clinching their first league title since 2010.
Chelsea, who have 30 points from their 13 fixtures in 2015, will have to get past Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this weekend if they want to extend their 10-point lead over the north Londoners but it will be no easy feat as Wenger’s side is on an eight-game winning run.
Sitting behind the Gunners and the Blues on the 2015 table is Manchester United who have 29 points from 14 games, ahead of Liverpool (29 points from 13 games) and Crystal Palace (26 points from 14 outings).
At the foot of the 2015 form ladder is QPR and Newcastle United who have just eight points this year and Sunderland who have recorded only nine.
