Arsene Wenger has released a statement saying that he will not stand in the way of Emmanuel Adebayor’s if the striker decides that he wants to quit Arsenal.
And it is believed that the Gunners boss has even taken out some ‘insurance’ if his Togo international striker decides to leaves for AC Milan by lining up striker Marouane Chamakh.
However, it is believed that Arsene Wenger has no intention of selling Adebayor, 25, who agreed a new contract last season but he has earmarked any transfer cash for Bordeaux’s Morocco hitman Chamakh.
The Emirates chief said that if Adebayor does not want to stay he will leave although he thinks that Adebayor will be still at Arsenal for the coming season.
Wenger has also revealed that he is ready to follow up on his long term interest in Chamakh but added that a deal will only take place if Adebayor decides to leave.
