Reports are out claiming that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged the fans to respect former star Cesc Fabregas when the midfielder pays a visit to the Emirates this weekend.
Former Gunners hero Fabregas turned into a pantomime villain in the eyes of the Arsenal fans after the Spaniard decided to join fierce rivals Chelsea over the summer and it is expected that he will receive a hostile reception this weekend when the Blues visit in the Premier League’s top-of-the-table clash.
However, manager Wenger does not want Fabregas to receive stick from the fans and has stated that he needs to be respected for his contribution to Arsenal for his glorious eight-year stay at the club.
Wenger said: “I want every player to be respected, and Cesc Fabregas when he comes to the Emirates on Sunday to be respected like he deserves.”
