Reports have surfaced that Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Manchester City for of Republic of Ireland keeper Shay Given.
Given failed to make a single Premier League appearance last term, playing second fiddle to first choice Joe Hart, and is eager to secure first-team football having turned 35 in April.
The former Newcastle stopper is regarded as one of the best keepers in the Premier League and with still two years left on his contract with City, new Villa boss Alex McLeish can offer him a regular starting berth.
