FC Bayern München stay two points clear of FC Schalke 04 at the Bundesliga summit despite being held to a 1-1 draw at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Bayern, who overcame Manchester United FC in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in midweek, had lost two of their previous three league fixtures. They took the lead against Leverkusen, however, Arjen Robben converting from the penalty spot six minutes into the second half for his sixth goal in seven games. That advantage lasted just six minutes, though, Arturo Vidal drawing Leverkusen level to keep the third-placed hosts within six points of Louis van Gaal’s side.
