Inspirational Brazil captain Lucio has agreed a deal that will bring him from Bayern Munich to Italian champions Inter Milan for an undisclosed fee.
It was reported that Lucio, whose contract with Bayern runs until 2010, will sign a three-year deal with the reigning Italian champions.
Bayern club manager Uli Hoeness said that the clubs have agreed terms and the player has also agreed for a move with Inter Milan
It is believed that Lucio expressed his wish to leave Bayern Munich after the Confederation Cup if there was an offer from a major club.
Hoeness added that Bayern still have several options for central defence and that the club is sad that he is leaving because the player has done an outstanding work for Bayern.
It is also reported that both sides would keep financial terms secret.
It is believed that Inter Milan, on a pre-season tour in California, opted for Lucio after talks to sign Chelsea’s Ricardo Carvalho broke down.
