LA Galaxy were confirmed as the Western Conference winners of MLS when they defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 on the weekend.
LA Galaxy and England international midfielder David Beckham played a major role in the final stages of the season as the club clinched top spot in their division and was delighted to have given the fans something to cheer about.
Beckham told reporters that Galaxy wanted to finish off on a high especially in front of its fans and the team did just that.
Beckham added that it was important that Galaxy won the game and to be top in its division.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder also said that the team played and passed the ball better in games but managed to win the game.
Beckham also said that the win pleased the fans as it made Galaxy the top but the team should not stop there.
The player added that there is still a lot of work to be done but he is happy with the position the team is in.
The Galaxy now meet Houston Dynamo in next week’s semi-final series the first match is at Houston and the return leg in LA a week later.
