Besiktas have denied interest in Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.
The former Bordeaux striker is being heavily linked with a summer departure from North London with some reports suggesting he is set to leave for Besiktas.
However the clubs manager Samey Aybaba said that they were not after a striker like Chamakah but rather a defender such as Sevilla’s Julien Escude.
“We needed a defender like Escude and I think our defence will be stronger with him. We’re not attempting to sign Marouane Chamakh,” he told Goal.com.
The 28-year old Moroccan international has made a total of 63 appearances for the Gunners scoring only 12 goals along the way.
