It has been reported that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has his fingers crossed that Philippe Coutinho’s injury is not too serious.
The 21 year old Brazilian was cut down by a waste-high challenge from Swansea City defender Ashley Williams in Monday night’s 2-2 draw and landed awkwardly on his shoulder.
Rodgers felt Coutinho’s exit 10 minutes into the second half disturbed Liverpool’s fluidity in the game and was hoping the damage was nothing too severe.
“We showed great character to come from behind so early on in the game, but probably young Coutinho going off disrupted the flow of our game,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.
“I haven’t seen the tackle. He’s very sore in the changing room, and we’re hoping it will only be bruising.”
