England coach Fabio Capello has lifted the players’ spirits after their disappointing 1-1 draw against the USA.
The Daily Mail says Capello impressed his senior players by restoring confidence levels with a soothing talk after the disappointment of drawing with the USA.
The Italian lifted the mood in the camp with a brief after-dinner speech which Jamie Carragher hailed as “a great piece of management”.
It followed Robert Green’s clanger, Ledley King’s groin injury and two dropped points.
“He had a little chat with us after our meal,” said Liverpool veteran Carragher.
“He said the performance was good, that he believed we can still do well. He was upbeat. Maybe there was a bit of disappointment that we drew but top managers have been there before.”
