Reports are out claiming that Chelsea matchwinner Cesc Fabregas was delighted with victory at QPR today.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder produced a late winner to keep Chelsea clear at the top of the table.
“It was vital,” said the Blues midfielder when asked about the importance of the three points.
“We’re playing at the most important stage of the season. We’re top, we’re up there and we want to stay there.
“We want to win and we showed the character of this team today.”
Asked about the timing of his winner, Cesc smiled: “Yes, it was a fantastic time to score.”
He continued, “It was windy, dry and suited them (QPR). But we never gave up. We showed fantastic mentality and in the difficult moments we coped very well.”
Cesc also paid tribute to Didier Drogba.
“Didi was very important because he held the ball up for us and gave us a lot of life throughout the game.”
