Newcastle United face a battle to keep hold of defender Steven Taylor.
It has been reported that a clutch of top Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Aston Villa and Chelsea are ready to test Newcastle’s resolve to hang on to Taylor.
Newcastle boss Chris Hughton declared last week that he wants to keep broken-jaw victim Taylor, recovering from a double fracture suffered in a training ground bust-up with team-mate Andy Carroll, at St. James’ Park next season.
However the odds are stacked against the Toon boss as the big boys hover.
There is considerable interest both at home and from abroad in the former England under-21 captain as he prepares to enter the final year of his Magpies contract.
