Interesting transfer news are out and it has been reported that Chelsea officials are confident of closing a deal for Yuri Zhirkov in the coming days.
Local British newspapers have reported and confirmed that English side Chelsea will sign CSKA Moscow playmaker Zhirkov for £18 million on Monday.
It is believed that the Russia international is ready to move to Stamford Bridge after seeing interest from Barcelona slowly dry up.
Zhirkov has played 28 times for the Russia national football team, and was named to the UEFA Euro 2008 Team of the Tournament.
In October 2008, Zhirkov was named as one of the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or award, given to the top player in Europe
