It has been reported that Daley Blind highlighted the overall team showing of Manchester United in the weekend’s derby triumph over Manchester City.
The Red Devils scored a 4-2 win at Old Trafford on Sunday to end a four-game losing streak to their neighbours and Dutchman Blind felt it was a vital victory for a group of players who have gelled so well together in recent months.
“Everyone knew how important this game was, not only because it’s a rat race in the last few games of the season but also because of the history of the last four games,” he said.
“Wayne mentioned it in the dressing room before the game to all the players. Everyone is already sharp at that moment but it is still something that you have in mind when you go on to the pitch. It brings extra feeling with it.
“It was going through the team. You saw how everyone was fighting for each other. We were really compact as a team again.”
