David James Wanted By Celtic

Interesting transfer news are out and it has been reported that England international goalkeeper David James is wanted by Scottish giants Celtic.

The former West Ham and Manchester City stopper, whose most recent contract with Portsmouth has expired, is a wanted man by new Hoops boss Neil Lennon.

Celtic are currently in the United Stated for a pre-season tour but Lennon was happy to comment on James, saying discussions were under way.

Lennon said : “We are still a long way off and it’s early days in terms of negotiations,”.

“But just the fact he is interested is very encouraging from our point of view. I want the best goalkeeper I possibly can.

“Not only for the league and Europe but also someone who can fill Artur’s (Boruc) shoes – and he’s one who can.”

It is believed that Celtic are desperate to replace Polish gloveman Boruc who recently joined Italian club Fiorentina after more than 200 appearances in the green and white.
