Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he is content with the form of Liverpool striker Fernando Torres in their 1-0 Round of 16 win over Portugal.
Del Bosque was at ease with how his side was playing and said Torres’ was where he needed to be following a knee injury.
The coach said : “We looked comfortable out there today. We played well and we were vigilant in defence and when we were on the ball we created a lot of good chances. When we’re in that form it’s difficult to stop us. The players who came on did a good job for us,”.
“Fernando Torres did what he had to do and we all felt pretty comfortable with how we played. This is a team that wants to make history and we’ll just have to wait and see if luck’s on our side. At least we’re through to the last eight now.”
