Reports are out claiming that Deportivo La Coruna are chasing Swansea City defender Chico Flores.
However WalesOnline reported that manager Garry Monk is ready to stand by Chico and give the 27-year-old the chance to start the season alongside skipper Ashley Williams, shelving plans to bring in a further centre-back.
Deportivo are on the hunt for a new centre-back and are thought to have made contact about a deal for Chico, while there have been suggestions ex-Swans chief Michael Laudrup, now in charge of Qatari champions Lekhwiya, has been considering an offer for the player he brought to South Wales.
