Olympique Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara has revealed that he will not take a backward step in action against Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was a Diawara tackle which put Cristiano Ronaldo out of action for over two months with an ankle injury and they’re set to square off once again in the Champions League.
Diawara told reporters that he will not hesitate to tackle Cristiano Ronaldo if he has to.
He also said that Ronaldo knows that the tackle was not malicious and that the Portuguese international is aware that it was not meant to hurt him.
Diawara then went on to say that he does feel sorry for being the person to go down in history for injuring Cristiano Ronaldo.
