LA Galaxy’s Landon Donovan believes his club teammate David Beckham can still help the England team at the World Cup despite no actually playing.
Beckham is out of the tournament because of an Achilles injury he sustained on loan with AC Milan earlier this year but has been installed by manager Fabio Capello to help the English team in their preparations.
Donovan, whose USA team face the Three Lions in their opening group stage match on Saturday, says that despite on contributing on the pitch, Beckham will still be a massive benefit to the England players.
“Of course, he is arguably their most experienced player,” Donovan said.
“He has played in some of the biggest games in the world so he is going to help them a lot.”
