England Boss Hodgson Concerned Over Arsenal’s Welbeck, Liverpool’s Sturridge

Reports are out claiming that England boss Roy Hodgson is concerned about the availability of strikers Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge for next summer’s European Championships.

Both attackers have not played for their country for some time and Hodgson is concerned that recent fitness setbacks indicate the duo won’t be afforded enough time to qualify for the Three Lions squad for Euro2016.

“Well, Welbeck bothers me now,” said Hodgson of the Arsenal man. “He has already been out for me since March and for Arsenal since April, so that’s over four months. And now I hear it’s another six months.

Regarding Liverpool’s Sturridge, Hodgson added: “Daniel is a little bit the same. It’s getting on for a year now. But I’ve got to make certain that there are a few Vardys and Kanes and Walcotts and that because we can’t keep going around talking about the ones who aren’t there.”
