Reports are out claiming that former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal has jumped to the defence of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Benzema has been criticised for his form with France.
But Abidal told RMC: “I know him very well. He was criticized when he arrived in Madrid (2009) and proved that he had the qualities to be on this team.
“Great players, you should never bury them. In major competitions, they are still there.
“He has big pressure on his shoulders.”
