It has been reported that Everton boss Roberto Martinez believes midfielder Steven Naismith is currently irreplaceable given his recent form for the Toffees.
Naismith scored a stunning hat-trick in Everton’s impressive 3-1 over Chelsea last weekend but was almost on his way out at Goodison Park when Norwich City came knocking in the summer transfer window.
The standout performance has lead to some high praise from his manager who admitted he was in no position to sell the Scotland international.
“Clearly, at that moment, we couldn’t replace Steven Naismith,” Martinez said.
“It wasn’t something that we could afford to do to lose such an important player like he is, even though he was finding himself not starting games.”
