English Premier League club Everton FC is set to face stiff competition for LA Galaxy striker Landon Donovan.
The Toffees went public with their interest in the LA Galaxy forward on Thursday and on Friday manager David Moyes confirmed negotiations were taking place.
LA Galaxy, however, have said the Merseysiders are not the only club interested in the 27-year-old and revealed that Everton are one of a number of clubs who have contacted the Galaxy about the possibility of a short-term loan agreement.
It was also revealed that The Galaxy, MLS and Landon’s representative will work together to determine if and whether an arrangement with Everton or any other club would be beneficial to all parties.
It is believed that Everton are hoping to utilise a similar agreement Donovan’s Galaxy team-mate David Beckham has with AC Milan, who he is joining in January on a short-term deal during the MLS close season.
