Reports are out claiming that Robin van Persie is still banging in the goals at Fenerbahce.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal captain has battled for consistency in Turkey this season – but he was back to his best on the weekend.
For victory over Mersin, Van Persie scored one and also provided an assist. It’s the first time he’s managed such a combined stat since December 2014.
RVP also settled any doubts over his relationship with coach Vitor Pereira.
After scoring, the striker made a beeline for Pereira to give his coach a big hug. The win keeps Fener within touching distance of leaders Besiktas.
