Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has admitted that the club’s title challenge is over for the season.
Torres has conceded that Liverpool’s campaign has not hit the heights they expected back in August after an early exit from the UEFA Champions League and a weak Premier League bid.
Torres told reporters that the current season is not the season Liverpool expected at the beginning of the season, but admitted that these things happen.
Torres also said that the team were thinking of trophies and the first choice was the Champions League and the Premier League. He added that Liverpool is out of the Champions League, and are really far out from the Premier League, so the club has now changed it targets.
Torres then said that Liverpool will have to think about the Europa League and the FA Cup as those are the only two competitions that could be won this season.
He then said that Liverpool is obviously trying to stay in the top four.
