Fiorentina Want Eboue-Felipe Melo Swap Deal

Felipe Melo It has been revealed that Felipe Melo signed a new contract with Fiorentina on June 30 2009, probably because he didn’t expect any interest from other clubs, but his impressive showing in the Confederations Cup recently has changed all that and Arsene Wenger took notice and has made an undisclosed bid for him.

A buy-out clause, said to be €25million (£21.4m), has been included in Melo’s new deal and recent reports have suggested Juventus could match that fee.
However, Fiorentina have claimed Arsenal remain the only side to have made an offer that comes close to activating the midfielder’s sale clause.

A deal could still transpire if Arsenal are ready to make a cash plus player swap deal involving Eboue, and by the looks of how unsettled Eboue was at Arsenal last season the deal might just happen.
