It has been revealed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez stands by his decision to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.
Reports suggest that the sale has upset Real players and fans, but Perez is adamant it was done in the best interests of Real.
ABC claims that the president will speak with board members outlining the reasons for the sale and in his speech he slaughters the German.
Perez admits club management grew tired of Ozil’s love of Madrid’s nightlife, his all-night partying and also the demands of his father and agent, Mustafa.
The Real president was left fuming when a contract offer of €6.5 million-a-year to 2018 was rejected by Mustafa, who was insisting on an extra €2 million-a-year. The lack of interest from Mustafa in fixing Ozil’s off-field problems was the final straw for Perez, who put the midfielder up for sale in August.
“He was simply not a good professional for Real Madrid,” will state Perez to his fellow directors.
