Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry will undergo an intense set of fitness tests on Tuesday to see if he is fit enough to make the England World Cup squad.
The former Aston Villa man continues to recover from ankle ligament damage so will be put through thorough testing to determine whether or not he will make it to South Africa.
Three Lions boss Fabio Capello admitted he wants Barry to be fit as he is a key player in his squad.
“Barry is one of the players we want to be fit,” said Capello.
“If he is fit, he will come with us. If not, he will stay at home.”
