Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has jokingly remarked that national team coach Gary Neville is still trying to impress England boss Roy Hodgson.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that former Manchester United defender Neville sometimes fill in to make more numbers at national training sessions and according to the Gunners youngster, he still has a competitive edge.
“Sometimes when we are a player short he will fill in and he doesn’t hold back at all,” ‘The Ox’ said. “It’s almost like he’s trying to let Roy Hodgson know he’s ready to play.
“But last time, he might have pulled a muscle so I haven’t seen him since then!”
