More transfer news are out and it is now reported that Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard is open to a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail has reported that Real Madrid wants Liverpool to drop their valuation of Gerrard as they try to finalise a move for the England midfielder.
The Liverpool captain insists he will not make a decision on his club future until after the World Cup but Real are pressing to put a deal in place.
It is believed that Liverpool are reluctant to sell the 30-year-old midfielder but knows that he is not happy with the club’s progress. And if he insists on going they want close to £30m.
Speaking after England’s draw with Algeria on Friday, Gerrard reportedly told Spanish media: “It is possible that I’ll be in Madrid next season.
“I’m aware of the club’s offer so maybe we’ll see each other in Madrid. I can’t say anymore. I’m just concentrating on the World Cup. My agent is looking after it all.”
