Reports are out claiming that Thierry Henry has stated that Arsenal will not win the Premier League title by relying on other teams to do their job.
Arsenal suffered a huge blow in the title race after enduring a 3-2 defeat at the hands of a very youthful Manchester United side on Sunday and the defeat leaves the Gunners a sizeable distance behind title rivals Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the table.
Following the slip up, club legend Henry has gone on to slam Arsenal and believes that his former side cannot continue depending on other teams to do them favours in the title race.
The Frenchman said on Sky Sports: “When you’re going home from that defeat are you saying to yourself ‘we’re playing Swansea, let’s see if West Ham can do us a favour by beating Tottenham and West Brom can do the same with Leicester and then it’s going to be OK’?
“No it’s not going to be OK. No-one’s going to give you the title. Who’s going to give you the cup and just say ‘have it’? No, you have to go and get it. No, you have to go and grab it.
“Even the day when you’re about to be champion when they bring the cup to your place and the guy from the FA passes the cup along to the skipper, does he have to grab it or not? Even on the day that he wins it he has to grab it. They have to do way better.”
The Gunners host Swansea City on Wednesday night as they look to bridge the gap with leaders Leicester, who drew 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, and second-placed Spurs who meet West Ham United at Upton Park.
