Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has been ruled out for three months after damaging a groin in the 5-1 win at Hull.
Brazilian Gomes, now age 28, suffered the injury while taking a routine cross in the first half on Wednesday.
This injury means that Harry Redknapp would be forced back into the transfer market for an experienced back-up to Carlo Cudicini.
Newcastle’s Dutch keeper Tim Krul, age 21, is a possible target for the Tottenham boss.
