Bayer Leverkusen defender Sami Hyypia has revealed that he has no regrets leaving Liverpool in the summer.
After 10 distinguished years and 317 appearances, Hyypia’s Anfield days ended in May.
Hyypia told reporters that he did not feel that he needed a new challenge and that he had a great time at Liverpool after ten years at the club.
Hyypia however said that when playing chances are limited at a club and a chance comes to do something about it, the chance must be taken.
He added that he is very sad that Liverpool are struggling a little bit at the moment. He added that it is a great club with great fans.
He added that he will always wish them success but what is happening there is not really his business.
He also said that a player will always want to be part of those games but added that he did not get the chance to play in many of the big games, against Chelsea or United or Arsenal.
He went on to say that it is the manager’s choice and that he has got nothing against that and nothing against Rafael Benitez.
Hyypia however stressed that it is the big games that are the ones that a player wants to play the most.
