It has been reported that Louis van Gaal is of the belief that Manchester United youngster Luke Shaw could be sidelined for as much as six months.
The 20-year-old England international left-back suffered a double fracture of his right leg in a tackle from Hector Moreno in United’s 2-1 Champions League group stage loss to PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night which van Gaal suggests will sideline the talented defender for a lengthy amount of time.
“I’m not a doctor so I cannot say, but when you have a double fracture it is four to six months. But you can never say that in advance,” said the Dutchman.
“He won’t play in the group stage, I don’t think. I hope he will play again this season.”
