It has been revealed that John Obi Mikel is set to depart Chelsea for a move to United Arab Emirates.
According to former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan, Blues midfielder Mikel is poised to join his fellow African at UAE Arabian Gulf League club Al Ain.
“I heard it this week that he has agreed terms with Al Ain and will most definitely be playing for us next season,” said Ghana international Gyan.
“It’s great news for us because Mikel Obi is a very good player and very experienced.
“It will be exciting playing with him in the same team, because I believe both of us, with the help of our other colleagues, can do more for the club.”
28-year old Nigeria international Mikel has been at Stamford Bridge since 2006 but is expected to leave the Premier League champions this summer.
