Reports are out claiming that Jose Mourinho is upset Manchester United were beaten by Bayern Munich to the signing of former Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches.
United were favourites to sign the 18-year-old.
But Louis van Gaal, Mourinho’s predecessor, did not want to sign the Portugal international and United cooled their interest, allowing him to sign for Bayern Munich on May 10.
The Daily Record cite friends close to Mourinho who claim the United boss is frustrated with his new employers for failing to sign Sanches.
Sanches was one of Portugal’s stars during Euro 2016, which culminated in them beating France in the final last night.
Bayern paid an initial £28m for the teenager but could fork out an additional £35m if performance-related add-ons are met.
Sanches’ performances in France were so impressive that some clubs have already enquired about his release clause at Bayern.
