Italian powerhouse Juventus hope to complete the signing of midfielder Felipe Melo’s from Fiorentina next week for a fee believed to be around the region of £21m.
It has been widely reported that the Turin giants are keen to sign the Brazilian international midfielder, who is also a target of English club Arsenal.
Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli said to reporters that he hope that Melo can come to Pinzolo for Juventus’s pre-season training camp. He also added that would mean that the negotiations would be done fast as Juventus’s relationship with Fiorentina is very good.
Giovanni however said that Melo’s transfer will only be completed once the player signs the contract and he hopes that will happen as soon as possible.
The 25-year-old Melo arrived to Florence from Spanish side Almeria last summer in a £7m transfer and is contracted to Fiorentina until 2013.
