Reports are out claiming that Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has urged his teammates to make a statement of intent in the Champions League opener against Juventus on Tuesday.
Despite achieving success on the domestic front in two of the past four seasons, City has continuously failed to make any sort of impact in Europe’s premier club competition, and Kompany says it is now time for that to change.
Kompany said: “It’s important to make a statement.
“Everything has been so bright for us so far. We have to show our qualities. We have a good team, we should always believe in ourselves and that should be the basis for our Champions League approach.”
